Toilet Repair & Replacement

Zenco Plumbing · Northern Michigan

A running toilet can waste 200 gallons of water a day — often silently. Whether your toilet won't stop running, won't flush properly, or it's time to replace an old unit entirely, Zenco Plumbing handles toilet repair and replacement throughout Northern Michigan for homes, cabins, and seasonal properties.

Common Toilet Problems

  • Toilet runs continuously or cycles on and off (phantom flushing)
  • Weak or incomplete flush
  • Water leaking around the base
  • Toilet rocks or is loose on the floor
  • Handle needs to be held down to flush
  • Slow to refill after flushing
  • Cracks in the porcelain tank or bowl

Flapper, Fill Valve & Internal Components

Most running toilets are caused by a worn flapper or a faulty fill valve — both inexpensive parts that can be replaced quickly. The flapper is the rubber seal at the bottom of the tank that controls when water flows into the bowl. When it degrades, water slowly seeps through and the fill valve keeps running to compensate. Replacing these components is often a 30-minute fix that immediately stops the water waste and the noise.

If the float, refill tube, or flush valve assembly are also worn, we can replace the entire internal kit at once — often the smarter call on an older toilet.

Full Toilet Replacement

Sometimes repair isn't worth it — especially on toilets that are 20+ years old, cracked, or using an outdated high-gallon flush design. Modern low-flow and dual-flush toilets use significantly less water per flush without sacrificing performance. We can remove and haul away your old unit and install a new one in a single visit.

Cabin & Seasonal Home Considerations

Northern Michigan has thousands of seasonal cabins and lake homes that sit empty through the winter. Toilets — and the supply lines that feed them — are a common failure point when a property isn't properly winterized. If you're opening a cabin for the season and find a running toilet, a cracked tank, or a supply line that's let go over the winter, we can get out there and sort it.

We also help with seasonal closing — shutting off supply valves and making sure everything is properly drained before freeze-up. A few minutes of prep in the fall can prevent a costly repair call in the spring.
